Guinea-Bissau Passport Photos and Visa Photo Requirements – Rules, Guidelines, and Specifications

We know that we already listed the Guinea-Bissau passport photo requirements. Still, we think it is necessary to go into further detail about some of them so that you can have as much information as possible. Perhaps you did not know this but submitting an inadequate passport photo is one of the most common causes of rejection.

  • You have to be careful with the background you select for your passport photo or visa photo. Not only must it be completely white, but it cannot have patterns or shadows either. A plain white wall should suffice, but if you do not have one in your home, feel free to hand a white sheet on a wall. The result is pretty much the same.
  • When preparing to take the photo, place the camera at eye level. It ensures the best possible visibility of all your facial features. Keep in mind that both sides of your face must be equally visible, so do not rotate your head in any direction. As you can imagine, portrait-style pictures will be rejected.
  • You are prohibited from smiling in your passport photo or visa photo. In fact, the only acceptable facial expression is neutral. To achieve the best result, relax your face when you take your picture.
  • Your eyes should be looking straight into the camera when you snap the photo. They should not be obstructed by anything such as your hair or the frames of your glasses. If you need to keep your glasses on, check to see if the photo has any glare in it, and if it does, repeat the process. In your passport photo or visa photo, you are prohibited from appearing with sunglasses or glasses that have tinted lenses.
  • The light can play tricks on your face and can distort some of your features, which is why you need to be careful about that. It should not be too bright or too dim, and you should choose a source that is located in front of you so that there are no shadows on your face.
  • Headwear is accepted only if you are bound by your religious beliefs to have your head covered at all times. But even then, you have to make sure that your face is visible from the top of your forehead to the bottom of your chin. Your headwear should not cast shadows on your face, either.
  • You do not have to shave your beard for your passport photo or visa photo if it represents your everyday likeness.

Rules and Requirements for Babies, Infants, and Newborn Passport and Visa Photos

Since children require their own passport and visas, you are going to have to take their pictures as well. There are no significant dissimilarities between a child’s passport photo and an adult’s passport photo other than the fact that a child’s head can appear smaller in the picture. Here are some tips to help you when taking a picture of a child.

  • Children should be awake when they have their picture taken.
  • If you want to snap the photo of a child in a car seat, like many parents do, you have to remember to place a white sheet on the backrest of the chair. That way, you achieve the required white background.
  • If you want to photograph your baby while he/she is lying in a horizontal position, please place the baby on a white sheet.
  • You have to remove the pacifier and the hat before taking the picture. Toys are prohibited from appearing in a passport photo or visa photo as well.
  • If you want to hold the baby for the photo, keep in mind that no part of you can be visible in the picture. Not even your hands.
